wooded valley, THE ABBEY
OF LUCERNE OF ULTRAMARINE, will
amaze you during a guided visit. The abbey continues
in the Norman historical architecture widely illustrated
by Mont-Saint-Michel.

ABBEY OF HAMBYE
is an ancient Benedictine abbey built in the
12th century. Located in the middle of the forest,
at the centre of the Siena valley, the site
offers both restored conventional medieval buildings
and the impressive ruins of the abbey church.
During the guided visit, you'll discover the
sacristy, the chapter room, visiting room and
a collection of liturgical ornaments.
In
Villedieu Les Poêles, visit one of the
few remaining foundries still in activity :
"La fonderie des cloches". You
will be able to see the master casters at work
making the clay moulds, and incorporating horse
manure and goats hair.
And
finally, visit one of the oldest copper and
tin workshops.
